It’s Friday and Sunday’s Comin’!
This week I came across a description of the family of God that spoke to me:
The question was asked, “What if we don’t feel connected?”
The answer: “Then you get to work. Some loves, like romantic loves, are born of feeling. Other loves take practice. But that doesn’t make love any less love and you any less worthy.”
We forget, sometimes, that being the family of God takes work. We don’t just naturally all love each other. Love takes time. Love is how we act toward each other, not how we naturally feel about each other. And yet our witness to the world depends on our example of living the love of Jesus.
So it will be great to have a “back porch” — another place to practice Christlike love. Visitors come in the front door; neighbors and friends gather on the back porch for support, friendship, reaching out. Both are important as we continue to stretch our arms wide to a world in need!
Blessings always,
Pastor Mary

P.S. I know this email probably appears wrong-sized on your computer screen but I’m not sure why and I don’t know how to fix it. Sorry!
