Roy’s Ramblings
Have you ever seen a “Miracle of God”?? How about a “Glory Sighting”?? Maybe you have experienced a “Blessing”?? Whatever you may have seen and whatever you may call it … each one of these is a gift from God. We may call each of these by different names: happenstance, medical advancement, luck, coincidence, daily routine, Mother Nature, etc.
So, what in the world am I talking about? Well, I have heard successful surgeries attributed to being a miracle. I have heard that someone donating an entire processed cow or pig to a feeding program as a glory sighting. I have heard folks that find a parking spot in Nashville in October as it being a blessing. However big or small … God is still at work in our lives showering us with love. And we will see it if we are looking for it. But are these things really miracles, glory, or blessings? I think that they are.
Let me explain … God has always wanted the best for all of creation – in the beginning all things were good and humans were very good … sin entered into the picture and hardships were added into our existence, but God still desires to have that perfect relationship with each and all of us. So to entice us, to woo us, to nurture and love us … God sends good things to give relief to some of the hardships. Does that mean that if we believe we will no longer struggle? Or, suffer? Or, eventually die? Absolutely not. Being human is a terminal condition in this world. But what it does mean is that through Jesus, God knows our struggles and our sufferings. And, also through Jesus we know miracles and examples of life and even life eternal.
So, I encourage each of us (every single day) to look for the good stuff. (People helping people, the unexplainable goodness, positive words, thoughts, and actions.) You know … Modern Miracles. And when you see them, experience them, or hear about them … then testify to others that you have been in the presence of God and what that truly means.
I pray Blessings upon us All … Always!! Pastor Roy
