Roy’s Ramblings…

FALLFARE IS COMING!!!!! This is not a drill – this is a full blown announcement about an Exciting Opportunity!!! Ok … Breathe in … Breathe Out … Repeat as Necessary!!

Yes I know it is only July. But, October will be here before any of us realize it. And, now is the time to Plan, Prepare, and Perform! So Let’s start with Planning.

First, we have someone who is leading organizational meetings but HE IS NOT THE CHAIR!! So, if you are feeling a calling, a nudging, a yearning from the Spirit to lead us into Glory and Success … the position of Chair is still available. Planning also means that we have had our first organizational meeting that gets names of booths, main organizers/leaders of those booths, and ideas of products for those booths in somewhat of an order of business. (For complete list of what we have so far inquire in the church office). Does that mean we are closed for ideas – or helpers – or product lists???? Absolutely Not!! Keep dreaming, keep thinking, keep planning. FallFare is a 53 year old living organism that has taken different forms and styles throughout the years, so keep those creative juices flowing.

Second, Preparing – we are need of books, jigsaw puzzles, home canned goods, baked items (including pies), gently used treasures, Christmas decor, pumpkin items, home made arts and crafts, fiber arts, wood arts, fancy boutique wares, breakfast casseroles, live musicians and more; and now is the time to be creating/gathering all of this stuff. Do we have a specific gathering place for it all??? Well, no … not really – but we are working on it. For right now keep the stuff at home and when we have the room – we will announce it loud and clear.

And finally we need to get ready to Perform. Signage and decorating items are being examined and upgraded; tents are being inspected for needed repairs and/or replacement; maps are being drawn for booth placement; volunteers are being recruited; theme shirts are being ordered; promo videos are being produced; and most importantly … prayers are being said. You see this is NOT about selling, or money, or self promotion, or whose booth outsold whose, or competition with other churches or organizations … It is about being the hands and feet of God … Rubber Hits the Road … Making a difference to the “Other” … giving funds away to promote ministry around the globe. And So: No matter what else … we start with Prayer and Asking for God’s Blessings in what we are doing, why we are doing it, and for God’s will to be done. Yes, we need all hands on deck and everyone involved but not only for Fall Fare … but for all areas of ministry throughout the entire church.
