Roy’s Ramblings

So I’ve been on vacation this past week. I’ve gotten some stuff done around the house, went down to my parents house and did a few things, got a couple of projects started in my wood shop (garage) put our Christmas decorations away (don’t judge me), and a few other odds and ends here and there … having a “stay-cation” is sometimes a very good thing.

I also thought about blowing off the Friday Email – “I’m on vacation and therefore don’t do church related stuff” as my reasoning … but … there are some important things I need to talk/write about. First a HUGE shoutout to Jenise Bohbrink for preaching this week. Please come to support her and to hear her message of Joy (Just seeing her outline has me excited about watching her online). Second, the Mountain Mission Truck comes at 7am Monday – make sure all things going to Kentucky are by the back door by then. And, Third, (and this is the big one) Starting next week, May 24, I will be preaching a four week sermon series on United Methodist 101, covering the topics of: Purpose and Identity, Core Beliefs, Connections and Ministry, and Leadership and Polity. Then on June 21 we will have membership day; meaning that anyone that has attended those four weeks (in person or on-line) will be invited to join the church. (Yes I know that it is Father’s Day and that some may already have plans elsewhere – so attending or watching those services will be good for a later date too – just trying to fit it in before I have to take the rest of my yearly vacation)

Anyway, I needed to get that information out to all so that we may plan accordingly – let me know if you are one that wishes to join Nashville UMC (got certificates to create) – for the rest of us it will be a refresher course. Well, I’m back to resting and relaxing … and preparing for the Scout Camp this weekend, Lions Pancake Breakfast, getting our stuff to Mountain Mission Pickup, sorting and creating stuff for FallFare, doing some yard work and gardening, hiking Brown County State Park, visiting newly opened shops around town, … you know … vacation stuff.

Blessings to and for us all – Pastor Roy

PS: Could someone unlock and re-lock the church this Sunday?? And Maybe turn some lights on?? Thanks!!
