Roy’s Ramblings

Wow!! So Many things to talk about this week. First, obviously, this Sunday is Mother’s Day. So remember Mom (however you may do that). Check out the diagram to see some of the many “Moms” out there. Second, the end of my fiscal year is coming and I realized that I still have three weeks vacation to take before July 1st. So, this week including Sunday, May 17th, I will be on vacation (not planning on going anywhere, just taking some extended Sabbath Rest) (Note: I will also be out of the pulpit June 28 and July 5). I tell you this so that you will still come on May 17th to hear/support Jenise Bohbrink who will be bringing the message. Third, the Rotary Food Drop Off is tomorrow at the High School Parking Lot – please support their efforts. Fourth, the Mountain Mission truck is coming on the 18th so this coming week is the time to bring in your donations. (Although the building may not be unlocked on Monday or Tuesday … see vacation notice above). Fifth, as of today there are only 16 days of school left in this school year, remember to pray for students/teaches/staff as they finish strong. Sixth, out Scout Troop is camping at Yellow Wood next weekend – pray for the scouts/leaders/weather for a great outing.

Whew!! I’m tired just by typing all of this and I didn’t even include: Dine to Donate for the Friends of the Library, The upcoming Lions Pancake Breakfast, the Resounding Joy Concert at IU Music Arts Center, or the Prayer Vigil to End ICE Detention in Columbus.

(See the Flyers on the Bulletin Board outside the church office for all the details on each of these)

So, now to “Ramblings” … What’s on my mind?? What needs to be shared?? Well, to be honest … I got nothing. I am in “Hard Core Doing” mode. Most of my life/ministry right now is action oriented and not cerebral; so my brain is focused on what action do I need to do next – doctors appointments – meeting and greeting – delivering food/items/medicine/stuff – meetings around the state – setups and breakdowns – etc etc etc. Sometimes, this is ministry … Don’t think – Just do!! Let the inspiration of God be your guide and get down to basics – John Wesley’s three simple rules are: Do No Harm, Do Good, and Stay in Love With God. So that is my focus right now. I pray you are well and that it is well with your soul. Now where is my calendar and how many places do I need to go today … ?????

Blessings To and For You All – Pastor Roy
