In 2019 active engagement with the Brown County community’s effort to address the drug/opioid crisis has been the focus of attention of our Church and Society Committee.  They have connected with community leaders in a coalition effort to provide resources and response to this crisis.

This community effort has resulted in a newly published Treatment Resource guide. HopeFest was a Saturday of fun and fellowship to celebrate addiction recovery and to highlight the resources available to help with recovery.  Also, in 2019 NUMC because a site for the distribution of life-saving Narcan, now available free-of-charge for families and friends who fear a possible overdose for a loved one.
